Her partner walked into your place at 2 a.m. and said: “They’re erasing her, and by morning I won’t even remember her name. Please. Help me keep her.”
In the perfect megacity of Halcyon, the worst thing isn’t being killed. It’s being deleted: scrubbed from the records, erased from the systems that are the only proof you’re real, until it’s like you never existed. Tonight it’s happening to a woman named Dani Cho, in stages, and her partner Mara is the last mind that still holds her, and she’s losing the grip in real time. Your players are fixers who work the cracks of Halcyon, and they have until dawn to find out who’s erasing Dani and why, and to put her back, into the record or at least into a memory the city can’t reach, before the sun comes up and Dani Cho was never born.
A complete, self-contained cyberpunk-noir mystery for one session of about three to four hours, ready to run with almost no prep.
No stat blocks, no rules, no math. Run it in any cyberpunk-capable or generic system, or rules-light by tension alone. Netrunning and chrome are kept narrative, and the only “magic” is the bureaucratic power to edit a person out of existence. An optional ruleset-neutral GM hook handles the tech.
Mature cyberpunk themes: disappearance, corporate murder by erasure, a person being unmade in real time. Dread and moral weight over gore, with violence consequential. Includes a safety-tool recommendation up front.
Loved the night and want the whole city? This one-shot is the opening of a full campaign. Halcyon: Campaign Codex + GM Kit turns this single case into the first of many and uncovers the program behind the deletions, with the complete codex plus a 5-session Session Planner and a 2-page Campaign Tracker. Find it in the Narrative Hall shop.
For personal use at your table. Run it, print it, adapt it for your own games. Please do not resell or redistribute the file itself. Non-exclusive: available to every GM who wants it.
