Description

Three hundred years to the promised world. The ship’s Archivist just died to keep one secret: we are never going to get there.

The generation ship Perennial has carried forty thousand souls across three centuries toward the world their great-great-grandparents were promised: Landfall. Faith in the Arrival, the countdown glowing in every corridor, is the thing that holds the ship together. Then the Archivist is found dead, ruled an accident within the hour, and a handful of investigators refuse to look away. Pulling that thread leads to the secret the Bridge has kept for a century: Landfall is a dead world, the voyage has no destination, and the ship has been flying a slow loop the whole time, because a people with a future to build toward stay calm, and a people with nowhere to go tear themselves apart.

Landfall is a complete, system-agnostic science-fiction campaign: a closed-ship murder mystery that opens onto the largest, kindest, most terrible lie the players will ever touch, and a choice about what forty thousand people are owed.

Why it runs well

  • A real mystery, run honestly. There is a killer, a method, a motive, and the great secret behind them, and all of it is findable. The Archivist left a record the Bridge could not seal, and the stars outside do not lie: plot them honestly and you can prove the ship is going nowhere. The gap between the official course and the true one is the clue, every time.
  • Grounded science fiction, not space combat. A used future of worn corridors and recycled air, solved by investigation, persuasion, and nerve. No stat blocks, no math.
  • A villain you cannot solve with a weapon. The Speaker of the Bridge is not a tyrant. She is a frightened steward who believes a kind lie is the only thing keeping the ship alive, and she may be right. The real antagonist is the impossible arithmetic itself.
  • A choice that matters. It ends not with a fight but with a decision the whole ship will live in: bury the truth and keep the cage, tell it and risk the fire, or thread the long hard turn and give the people something true to hope for before the window closes.

What is inside

The full Campaign Codex (The World, The Conflict, The Story, The Characters, The Places, Running the Campaign) plus appendices: NPC reference sheets, map notes, and print-ready player handouts. Built fair-play, with a session-by-session season shape, a safety-tools guide for its themes, and an example of play so you can feel the investigation before you run it.

System-agnostic

Use the system you love. Landfall provides the ship, the people, the mystery, and the choice; you provide the dice and the rules. No conversion, no new rulebook. New to system-agnostic? It works with any ruleset, or with none at all.

Who it is for

Game Masters who like their science fiction grounded and human (think The Expanse, Snowpiercer, Silo), fair-play mystery fans, and any table that wants a season about a hard truth and the people who have to decide what to do with it.

The fine print

Teen and up. Themes of a killing, social deception, and the threat of unrest, handled with weight rather than gore. Includes session-zero guidance and named safety tools. A personal-use digital download.
